SAYA Collective exists because one child was ready to play and her family could not afford the cost. We decided that story should not repeat itself.
She had the interest. She had the heart. She just did not have access.
That is the story that started SAYA Collective. A young girl in the Lowcountry who wanted to participate in an activity she loved, but the cost was simply out of reach for her family.
A group of parents decided to do something about it. Not through a slow-moving institution, not through a grant process that takes months, but through a direct, fast, parent-powered model that gets funds to the child before the season starts without them.
This is not about the tax deduction. It is about speed, flexibility, and getting resources to the children who need them before the season starts without them.

We are not a nonprofit. That is intentional.
We have watched too many well-meaning organizations get slowed down by bureaucracy, bogged down by overhead, and in some cases, compromised by the very structures meant to protect them. We wanted no part of that.
So we built something different. SAYA is a mission-led organization run by parents, for parents. When a child is approved, we move fast. Funds go directly to the sports organization, studio, or program — no reimbursements, no waiting, no red tape. Just a kid who gets to play.
Right now, we run entirely on volunteer hours. Every dollar that comes in goes toward a child. We are committed to being fully transparent about where that money goes and how decisions get made.
Our long-term vision is bigger. We want SAYA to grow into a meaningful place for parents of school-aged children to work, with schedules that actually fit around school hours and the realities of modern family life.
